By Shannen Headley A man who shot his girlfriend in the forehead before calling police to tell them that she had “ran into a pool cue” has been jailed for life for her murder. Richard Basson, a 45 year old man from Leicestershire, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his partner, Carrie Slater. After being found guilty of the offence on Tuesday he appeared at Leicester Crown Court the following day where he was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 32 years.
