A huge blaze has broken out in Liverpool as plumes of smoke can be seen across the city centre. Witnesses claim an “abandoned construction site” near Fox Street has set alight. Pictures online show huge flames engulfing a building and smoke can reportedly be seen as far as Wirral. Emergency services are in attendance at the scene with a cordon in place. Fire crews have asked people to move back from the area and have extended a road closure towards Great Homer Street. Smoke was spotted billowing over Everton’s Goodison Park ahead of their FA Cup clash with Luton Town. More to follow…
