Football governing bodies UEFA and FIFA had no right to threaten clubs with sanctions for joining a planned Super League, a Madrid commercial court ruled on Monday. The court said that Europe’s UEFA and global body FIFA were guilty of anti-competitive practices and abusing their positions. In a ruling that can be appealed, judge Sofia Gil Garcia said that the two organizations must end their practices which had violated European Union law.
