World champion Remco Evenepoel lived up to his top billing to claim a first men’s Olympic road cycling time trial gold medal for Belgium on a rainy Saturday. Evenepoel took the gold six days after his third place finish at the Tour de France, 15 seconds ahead of Italy’s Filippo Ganna as they finished in the same order as at last year’s worlds.
