The rewilding of parts of Stansted has begun with meadow flower seeds being planted on the northern entrance to the village. Contractors have fenced off an area near the knight sign at the corner of High Lane and Cambridge Road where wild flowers will be sown and should flourish in a few weeks’ time. Land has also been prepared at the junction of Pennington Lane and Rainsford Road which will be re-turfed and also seeded with wild flowers.
