The 2024 Summer Olympics are off and running in Paris. A Central Kentucky native accomplished an impressive feat on Sunday. Lee Kiefer became the first U.S. women to win consecutive gold medals in individual foil fencing. Kiefer defeated fellow American Lauren Scruggs 15-6 on Sunday. The Notre Dame product attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and took gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Lee Kiefer became the third woman in foil fencing history to win two gold medals.
