A dedicated sea swimmer says falling water quality at one of Kent’s most popular beaches has left him with “nasty” eye and ear infections. Retired barrister Ian Callaway, 62, takes a dip off Deal every morning but no longer puts his head underwater as he needs to be “extra careful”.
