AWE has announced that it will be conducting a training exercise at its Aldermaston site next month. A spokesperson for the UK’s nuclear bomb factory said: “We would like to inform you that on Tuesday, July 16, a zonal site undercover exercise will take place on the Aldermaston site between 9.30am and 12pm. “As part of this exercise, play alarms may be heard external to the AWE Aldermaston site. “In addition, you may see some simulated smoke, and emergency services (both internal and external) responding. “Please accept our apologies in advance for any disturbance caused as a result of this.”
