lifecell has announced its Q1 2024 results. The company demonstrated a 13.0% year-on-year increase in revenue and a 5.7% year-on-year increase in adjusted EBITDA. In addition, lifecell’s 3-month active subscriber base increased to 9.7 million in Q1 2024.

In Q1 2024, lifecell demonstrated a 16.1% year-on-year revenue growth to UAH 3,120.5 million (Q1 2023: UAH 2,687.4 million).
Adjusted EBITDA and EBITDA margin
In 1Q2024, Adjusted EBITDA increased by 5.7% year-on-year to UAH 1,696.7 million (1Q2023: UAH 1,605.0 million). Adjusted EBITDA margin decreased from 59.7% in 1Q2023 to 54.4% in 1Q2024.
CAPEX
In Q1 2024, capital investments increased by 58.0% year-on-year to UAH 1,008.2 million (Q1 2023: UAH 638.0 million). The growth was driven by investments in energy independence of the company’s equipment, network rollout and replacement of equipment damaged by the Russian military aggression.
Profit
lifecell recorded a profit of UAH 582.7 million in Q1 2024 (Q1 2023: UAH 515.6 million).

Despite all the challenges of the war, we continued to innovate and improve our services for subscribers,” said Ismet Yazıcı, CEO of lifecell.
In his opinion, lifecell’s financial results for Q1 2024 reflect the effectiveness of the company’s development strategy. At the same time, the company became one of the top 10 largest investors in the Ukrainian economy. In 2023, lifecell’s capital investments exceeded UAH 4.2 billion, and in Q1 of this year the company invested another UAH 1 billion in the Ukrainian economy.

Thanks to the expansion of coverage and attractive tariff offers, lifecell’s 3-month active subscriber base grew by 12.8% year-on-year to 9.7 million in Q1 2024 (Q1 2023: 8.6 million).
MOU
In Q1 2024, MOU decreased by 13.2% year-on-year to 142.3 minutes (Q1 2023: 163.9 minutes).
DOU
DOU was stable year-on-year and reached 9.8 GB in Q1 2024.
ARPU
In Q1 2024, ARPU increased by 0.5% year-on-year to UAH 105.1 (Q1 2023: UAH 104.6).
Smartphones
As of Q1 2024, lifecell retained its leading position in terms of smartphone penetration in the Ukrainian market with 83.9% (Q1 2023: 84.6%).
