Milkesa Mengesha won the men’s race and Tigist Ketema led a women’s sweep as Ethiopia ruled the 50th edition of the Berlin Marathon with five of the six podium spots on Saturday. Mengasha shook off Kenyan rival Cybrian Kotut on the final kilometre a he bettered his personal best by more than two minutes in 2 hours 3 minutes 17 seconds over the classic 42.195km distance.
