The Israeli parliament on Monday approved controversial bills restricting the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The first bill bans the agency from operating on Israeli territory next year. In the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, with 120 seats, 92 members of the government and the opposition voted in favour of the bill. A second bill prohibiting any contact between Israeli authorities and UNRWA, was also approved by a majority of 87 lawmakers.
