Israeli strikes hit areas in southern Syria late on Thursday, prompting Syrian air defences to respond to the attack, state-run media said. Citing a military source, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) said shortly before midnight “the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the southern region.” It said the Syrian air defence responded to the attack and shot down most of the Israeli missiles.
