Former Russian deputy defence minister Pavel Popov has been arrested on corruption charges, authorities said on Thursday. Investigators accuse Popov, who was in charge of development and operation at the Patriot Park, a military propaganda theme park west of Moscow, of embezzling funds “at the expense of the facility” between 2021 and 2024, the investigative committee said on Telegram.
