Augsburg have recruited defender Keven Schlotterbeck, brother of Germany’s Nico, on a permanent deal from Freiburg. The 27-year-old had been on loan for the last two seasons at Bochum but now heads to Bavaria on a deal until 2027, the Bundesliga club said in a statement on Friday. “Augsburg stand for courageous and emotional football and therefore suits my style of play very well,” said Schlotterbeck. “I want to lead the way with my experience and strength in the tackle.” Augsburg also announced the signing of striker Samuel Essende from Congo on Friday.
