Bullet train services will be partially suspended on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line starting Friday morning due to a strong typhoon, its operator said Thursday. The services will be halted between Mishima and Nagoya in central Japan, said JR Central, which runs trains linking Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. Typhoon Shanshan made landfall on the country’s southwestern main island of Kyushu on Thursday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds that forced operators to cancel trains and flights in the region.
