Having progressed to the last 32 of the EH Plate competition Pelicans knew that Cambridge City would be a tough opponent. The Pelicans squad of current and former players worked hard for each other and kept Cambridge at bay for the first 25 minutes but the deadlock was finally broken as a result of a well-worked short corner routine. Kirstie Smith performed heroics in goal and the defensive unit of Jane Carter, Laura Culley-Tea, Hannah Aldous, Tracy Bower and Judith Stoutt combined well to keep the Cambridge attacking play at bay.
