It’s been less than a month since Vivo released its new X100 series smartphones, and rumors about Vivo’s next flagship line, the X200, are already emerging.

Today, Smart Pikachu announced that the Vivo X200 will be the first smartphone in the series to debut with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. Vivo was also the first to introduce the Dimensity 9300 in the X100 and Pro models, as well as the new Dimensity 9300 Plus chip in the X100s and X100s Pro smartphones.

Last year’s rumors suggested that Vivo would play a crucial role in the development of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. So it’s only fitting that the upcoming Vivo X200 series will continue the tradition of being the first phones to feature MediaTek’s flagship SoC.

Competing with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the Dimensity 9400 will feature ARM’s flagship Cortex-X5 core. Although the chip has not yet appeared on benchmarks, the Dimensity 9400 is said to have better IPC performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

In addition, the insider mentioned that the X200 phones will not have an S-series, which means that there will be no successors to the X100s and X100s Pro.

The insider didn’t go into other details of the phone, but a leak earlier this week revealed that the Vivo X200 phones will be released in October. The Oppo Find X8, which is also rumored to use the Dimensity 9400, is expected to hit the market in the same month. Xiaomi will be their competitor in the same month, releasing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-based Xiaomi 15 with a Snapdragon 8 processor.
