German police have been given special training to spot the difference between Switzerland fans singing the word “Nati” rather than “Nazi” at Euro 2024. A Berlin police spokesperson confirmed to dpa that officers have explicitly been reminded that “Nati” to Switzerland fans is a shortened version of the German term Nationalmannschaft, meaning national team.
