If approved by the Senate, Buzzard will oversee a team of several hundred U.S. military personnel who make up the Security Assistance Group–Ukraine based at U.S. Army Europe and Africa headquarters in Wiesbaden. Buzzard is recognized as one of the most experienced generals in the U.S. Army and, in addition to his nomination for this position, he has also been nominated for the next rank of lieutenant general.
