Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 30 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday chaired a meeting with the Chief Secretary and Assam DGP in Guwahati and discussed issues related to Village Defence Party (VDP). Considering the important role of VDP volunteers in maintaining security and expediting their remuneration, the Assam Chief Minister directed officials to do away with the ceiling system in giving remuneration to the volunteers.
