Vivo has launched the S19 series of smartphones in China. The lineup consists of standard and pro models. They replace the Vivo S18 and S18 Pro models, which debuted last December. The latest offerings have a new design and gradual updates. There are a few differences between the S19 and S19 Pro. Let’s find out what the phones offer out of the box.
Starting with the display, the Vivo S19 and S19 Pro feature a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits of peak brightness. Both phones are integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The former has a flat panel, while the latter has curved edges. In terms of design, the S19 duo has a tablet-shaped island on the back. It has a round module on top and another oblong module on the bottom. The S19 Pro is IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance.
In terms of optics, the Vivo S19 has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The S19 Pro, meanwhile, has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX921 with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP OIS telephoto lens with 50x digital zoom. Both phones are equipped with an annular LED flash. The Vivo S19 duo is equipped with a 50-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The devices are also capable of shooting portraits with three focal lengths, and the Pro version also offers an 85mm focal length.
Under the hood, the Vivo S19 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, the same as its predecessor. The S19 Pro is also powered by the same chipset as the S18 Pro – Dimensity 9200+. Both phones have up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The S19 duo comes with upgraded batteries: the standard and professional models are equipped with 6,000 mAh and 5,500 mAh cells, respectively. Both models support 80W wired charging. The smartphones run OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.
The Vivo S19 starts at CNY 2,499 (~$344) for the base 8GB + 256GB version, while the 12GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 2,699 (~$372). The 12 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB configurations cost 2,999 yuan (~$413) and 3,299 yuan (~$455), respectively.
The same configurations of the Vivo S19 Pro cost 3299 yuan (~455 USD), 3499 yuan (~482 USD), 3799 yuan (~523 USD) and 3999 yuan (~551 USD). The S19 duo is available in blue, gray, peach (standard) and green (Pro) colors.
