Samsung is expected to unveil the highly anticipated Galaxy Ring at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 10, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. However, we already have a lot of information about the development thanks to leaks, rumors, and appearances on certification platforms. The latest news concerns the Galaxy Ring feature, which will allow you to make the LED on the ring flash using the Samsung Find app.
Samsung Find app already helps you find a variety of Galaxy devices, including smartphones, tablets, watches, headphones, and more. Recently, the app was updated to a new version, in which Assemble Debug found lines of code indicating the development of a “lost mode” feature for the Galaxy Ring.
This feature will also allow you to lock your Samsung account to protect your personal data
<string name="lost_mode_guide_description_ring">Lost mode helps protect your ring while it's missing.</string> <string name="message_default_ring">I lost my ring. Please help me find it.</string> <string name="ring_dialog_error_ring">Couldn't connect to Ring to start blinking.</string> <string name="ring_dialog_ready_ring">Tap start to make the light on your ring blink.</string> <string name="ring_dialog_ringing_ring">Ring light is blinking.</string> <string name="pairing_lock_description_ring">This ring will be locked to your Samsung account. No one else will be able to use it.</string>
The Samsung Find app will also notify you if your phone is unable to connect with the ring to trigger the flashing feature. In addition, this feature can allow users to lock their Samsung account so that no one else can access personal information through the ring.
While the Galaxy Ring is reportedly designed for constant use, the Lost mode will still be useful if you happen to lose your ring. However, this feature is currently under development and Samsung may or may not release it with the final product.
The Oura ring, which already exists on the market, does not have a similar feature to help the user find the device. It only goes into a restricted mode when someone tries to pair it with a new device. This mode allows the user to erase all information from the ring through the Oura app on the paired device.
