Federal prosecutors have indicted Newton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Marcello Banes and local real estate broker Stephanie Lindsey on charges of money laundering. According to the indictment, Banes and Lindsey allegedly conspired to launder money obtained through a fraudulent land deal.
