Augsburg have signed defender Chrislain Matsima on a one-season loan from AS Monaco, the Bundesliga club said on Friday. Matsima is expected to replace Felix Uduokhai, who left the club after five years to join Turkish side Besiktas. “With Chrislain Matsima we’re getting the desired reinforcement for our defence. He’s a young and very talented player with a top development,” sporting director Marink Jurendic said.
