The Italian government led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has passed its budget law for next year through parliament just in time for New Year’s Eve. The Chamber of Deputies in Rome – the larger of the two chambers – voted in favour of the budget plan on Friday with the votes of the right-wing majority. The budget includes tax cuts for pensioners and tax relief for low earners. Financial measures to support families and more money for the health-care system are also planned.
