After years of languishing, a plan to completely ban smoking at one of the last places it’s allowed in New Jersey — inside Atlantic City’s nine casinos — just took a big step forward. The state Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee voted 5-1 with two abstentions to advance the latest stab at the proposal at the Statehouse in Trenton, marking the first time in nearly two decades there was a vote on the issue.
