The proceedings against German cyclist Michel Heßmann over a positive doping test have been dropped, the Freiburg public prosecutor’s office told dpa on Tuesday. The reason for the decision was “a lack of sufficient grounds for suspicion,” the authority said. “In June 2023, the accused was suspected of unauthorized self-doping during an unannounced doping test. This suspicion was not supported in the course of the investigation,” the public prosecutor’s office said.
