A driver died on Sunday night following a single-vehicle crash on a South Jersey highway, officials said. The car was found engulfed in flames around 10:30 p.m. on the grass along Route 30 in Absecon near Delilah Road, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. A city police officer first noticed the car fire while patrolling the highway. Officers on the scene attempted life-saving measures on the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, and attempted to contain the flames.
