A toddler is in the hospital in critical condition after almost drowning in a residential pool over the weekend, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday. Police responded to a home in South Plainfield on Saturday at 7:36 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting that the child was found in the pool and was not breathing, officials said.
