A police officer has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a reported hit-and-run while carrying out speed tests. The constable was patrolling on foot in Coulter Road in Ashford when he was hit by a car. Following the collision, the vehicle reportedly failed to stop and is believed to have continued driving along Tally Ho Road. Detectives have arrested a local 19-year-old in connection with the incident. He has since been bailed as investigations continue.
