Police shot and wounded a man armed with a knife after a six-hour standoff Thursday morning in Newark during a warrant arrest, authorities said Friday. Detectives from Mercer County were attempting to arrest Quadir Harvey, 22, on the 100 block of Camden Street in Newark at 5:30 a.m. when Harvey barricaded himself inside a residence while armed with a knife, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
