A tip led officers on Monday to an alleged chop shop hidden inside an Essex County business, police said. The tipster told police shortly after 2:30 a.m. that stolen cars were being housed and disassembled at Veracity Stone Fabricators in Fairfield and that the evidence of the alleged illegal activity would be removed before 6 a.m., according to a release from the Fairfield Police Department.
