Anwar El Ghazi has cancelled his contract with Bundesliga club Mainz without notice which could end an ongoing legal dispute between the two sides in connection with pro-Palestinian posts from the player last year. El Ghazi’s lawyer made the announcement to dpa on Wednesday and it was also confirmed by the club, which said it would now discuss their next steps. El Ghazi had a contract until 2025.
