Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault on a girl have made an arrest. The incident took place in an alleyway off St Mary’s Memorial Gardens, Newark, at around 7.45pm on Thursday (December 28, 2023). Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was today (Saturday, December 30) arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody for questioning.
