A football fan is due to be charged with assault after allegedly falling from a stand onto a supporter at a history-making match. The incident took place during Maidstone United’s fourth round FA Cup match with Ipswich Town earlier this year. It is understood a man fell from the upper tier of a stand at the Suffolk club’s Portman Road stadium where away fans were sitting, onto home supporters below, during the game on January 27.
