Alex Yee produced a finish for the ages to give Britain men’s triathlon gold at the Paris Olympics. Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Yee seemed well beaten by New Zealand’s Heyden Wilde on the concluding 10 km run, trailing by 12 seconds with less than 1.5 km left. But Yee found another gear and almost sprinted past his rival to win by six seconds. Hosts France earned bronze from Leo Bergere, after Cassandra Beaugrand had earlier won the women’s race.
