Bishop’s Stortford Choral Society (BSCS) has something to trumpet about this summer with a June concert programme packed with gloriously uplifting songs accompanied by a brass band drawn from the ranks of the Bishop’s Stortford Sinfonia, writes Helen Miller. The choir is performing a range of jubilant songs including Gloria and Te Deum by John Rutter, who is one of the UK’s most celebrated living composers, as well as soaring coronation anthems including Hubert Parry’s I Was Glad, which was sung at the coronations of Edward VII, George V, Elizabeth II and King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
