By Laura McGuire House prices rose 0.7 per cent in January as cooling mortgage rates are continuing to help repair the market, a new report from Nationwide said. The rise helped improve the annual rate of house price growth from -1.8 per cent in December to -0.2 per cent in January – the strongest outturn since January 2023.
