The United States and Japan said Wednesday they have picked Northrop Grumman Corp.’s plan for their development of a new type of missile capable of intercepting hypersonic weapons. The two countries, which are aiming to complete the missile’s development by the 2030s, selected Northrop Grumman’s design over that of Raytheon, an RTX Corp. business.
